Orthodox Christian Worship on Campus

Liturgical formation

Chapel Life

At Trinity College, studies in theology are not understood to be carried out in isolation from the ongoing life of the church; rather, they are undertaken within the context of the daily worshipping life of the college community. For this reason, theology students in all degree programs are expected to be as regular in their chapel attendance as they can be.

Orthodox Christian worship services at Trinity College are served in English in conjunction with Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission. The rector of the mission is the Very Rev Fr Geoffrey Ready, who is also Director of Orthodox Studies.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship

Midweek Orthodox Christian services are held on campus at the nearby St Sophia chapel, on the lower level of Elmsley Hall (81 St Mary Street) at St Michael’s College.

Undergraduate and divinity students alike join together for worship, Bible study, and fellowship — including our popular pub nights. Check the calendar above for upcoming services and events.

Any students across the university in need of support or guidance are also welcome to avail of the services of Orthodox Christian chaplaincy at U of T.
