Master of Theological Studies

The Master of Theological Studies (MTS), with an optional Concentration in Orthodox and Eastern Christian Studies, is a degree programme in the academic study of theology. It is an introductory programme of studies designed both to provide a general understanding of the Orthodox Christian faith and to permit students some focus on themes and issues of personal and social relevance. Graduates of the MTS programme will demonstrate a graduate level and ecumenical basic understanding of the fields of theological study, including Biblical studies, history of Orthodox Christianity, Orthodox pastoral studies and theology.

The MTS also constitutes a basis for further graduate studies in theology.

There is no residency requirement for the MTS. Normally two years of full-time study is required to complete the programme, though it may also be completed on a part-time basis.
